Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by multisystem organ involvement and a wide range of symptoms. Many diseases present with laboratory and clinical features similar to SLE, for example, malignancies and infections that are termed “lupus mimickers”. This article presents a case of visceral leishmaniasis in which the clinical characteristics and laboratory profiles imitated SLE in our hospital.
